Dracula:
A Comedy
of Terrors
by Gordon Greenberg
& Steve Rosen
"You don't know what it is to be alone. From the time I was a child, I had to endure the scorn and ridicule of the other children in my village. I couldn't swing a cricket bat if my life depended on it. Also, they had never seen a boy in a cape."
"There are horses, pitchforks and amphetamines outside. For the good of Whitby, for the good of England, let's kill that monster - and bring back my second favourite daughter!"
This spring, hang onto your garlic and your crucifix, and let go of your pre-conceived gender roles. The world’s most famous vampire is landing in Haliburton to drink blood and make love.
Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors by Gordon Greenberg and Steve Rosen first flew onto the New York theatre scene (and TikTok) in 2023, and now, he’s ready to sink his teeth into small-town Canada.
Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors is a bloodcurdlingly hilarious send-up about Bram Stoker's legendary vampire. When her sister Mina falls ill with a mysterious disease of the blood, Lucy Westfeldt and her fiancé, Jonathan Harker, enlist the help of famed vampire hunter Doctor Jean Van Helsing. Their hunt for the dangerous and sexy Count Dracula is a whip-sharp, campy, gender-bending romp where gothic horror meets Monty Python.
Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors played April 24-26th at the Northern Lights Performing Arts Pavilion

What did people think of Dracula:
A Comedy of Terrors?
"The neck-biting wit of the delightfully thirsty, leather and lace-clad Dracula (played by Christine Carr) is accompanied by a sharp cast who never fail to hit the punchlines."
- The Haliburton Echo
"A bloody fun show."

"You won't stop laughing
for the entire 90 minutes."

Dracula was a zany, fun show! The cast was stellar and their ability to maintain a straight face while the audience was splitting their sides in laughter was impressive! Once again, an outstanding production.

Truly one of the most entertaining productions I've seen. Fantastic company. Really enjoyed it.
If you are sitting on the fence and wondering if you should get tickets… Do it!! This show is so amazing! Christine Carr is hysterical as Dracula – my abs are sore from laughing.
I had such a fangtastic time seeing this performance last night! You all made me snort laugh, cry laugh, choke on my laugh... so good!

Carr upholds the charm and playfulness that Greenberg & Rosen's pansexual Dracula demands, whether strutting to Chappel Roan or staring longingly at necks.

It’s zany and funny. Christine Carr is amazing and the kids all do such a stellar job. Jordan Kovacs and Hannah Klose will split your sides!

I chaperoned a group of five 13 and 14 year old young ladies to this show and we had a blast watching this performance! My group of giggling girls most favourite scene was the fiance-turned-vampire strutting his stuff in corset and fish nets!

Sisters Lucy (Hannah Klose) and Mina (Taliah Dumas-Stephenson) have a relationship that is entirely unlike Stoker's Dracula and is highly successful in this light comedy.
The butt of many jokes, it is hard to understand why Mina has not found a suitor with her level of wit and grasp of humor.

So frikkin funny! Brilliant tech! Congrats everyone

This was fantastic! I’d go again.

Like many audience members, I gasped every time Renfield (Spencer Zumpano) made an appearance. Whether it was popping out of the window or appearing on the bed, Renfield's presence was undoubtedly uproarious.

Ctrl-ART-Del never fails to utilize its cast.
Through goofs, gaffs, and action-packed montages, Ctrl-ART-Del's Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors is a highly successful romp through both the Transylvanian countryside and Whitby.
